Protecting and Learning: Executive Protection at the 2025 IN-VALUE-ABLE Conference
It was an honor to provide executive protection (EP) for UnitedHealthcare employees at the 2025 IN-VALUE-ABLE Conference Series & Expo, held at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland from January 29–30. My role extended beyond simply ensuring the safety and security of these individuals; it provided a unique vantage point from which to observe and learn about United Healthcare’s innovative healthcare solutions, specifically their Surest plan. The two days spent at the conference were a compelling blend of security protocols and insightful exposure to a forward-thinking approach to healthcare coverage.
My responsibilities encompassed a range of security measures, from on-site surveillance to threat mitigation. The smooth execution of these tasks allowed me to focus on a secondary, yet equally important, aspect of the assignment: understanding the value proposition of United Healthcare’s Surest plan. Through conversations with attendees and by reviewing promotional materials, a clear picture emerged of a plan designed to address many of the frustrations associated with traditional healthcare coverage.
The Surest plan’s key advantages resonated strongly. The simplicity of its copay-only structure, eliminating the complexities of deductibles and coinsurance, is a significant draw. This transparency, further enhanced by the user-friendly Surest app, allows individuals to understand their healthcare costs upfront. This empowers informed decision-making, a crucial element often lacking in traditional plans. The app’s ability to check costs and coverage before appointments is a game-changer, promoting proactive healthcare management.
Beyond the financial aspects, the comprehensive ness of Surest’s coverage is impressive. From preventive care to specialized treatments such as cancer care and mental health services, the plan demonstrates a commitment to holistic well-being. The extensive provider network ensures access to a wide range of healthcare professionals, further enhancing convenience and choice. Finally, the dedicated Clinical Advocacy team provides invaluable support, guiding members through their care options and connecting them with essential resources.
My experience at the IN-VALUE-ABLE Conference underscored the importance of both physical and financial security. While my primary role focused on the former, witnessing the presentation of Surest highlighted the latter. The plan’s focus on transparency, simplicity, and comprehensive coverage addresses many of the anxieties associated with healthcare costs and access. It is a testament to United Healthcare’s commitment to providing a more accessible and user-friendly healthcare experience. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to not only ensure the safety of UnitedHealthcare employees but also to gain a deeper understanding of their innovative approach to healthcare, leaving me with a profound appreciation for the Surest plan’s potential to revolutionize employer-sponsored health
