$42.00

BCI (STATE DATABASE CHECK): "The digital fingerprints are sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification (BCI&I) and subsequently forwarded to the requested destination. This process typically takes between 24 and 72 hours, depending on the workload and the receiving agency's processing capacity. Factors such as the clarity of the fingerprints, the completeness of the submission package, and any outstanding warrants associated with the individual can also influence processing time. Once the fingerprints are processed, a response is generated, indicating whether a match was found in the state database.  This response is then transmitted electronically to the requesting agency, often via a secure portal or email. A 'no match' response does not necessarily indicate the absence of a criminal record; it simply means no match was found within the Ohio BCI&I database.

$50.00

FBI (NATIONAL DATABASE CHECK): "Digital fingerprints will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification (BCI&I), which will then forward them to the requested location. The turnaround time for this process varies depending on the workload and the complexity of the request but typically ranges from a few hours to several days. Results will be transmitted electronically to the requesting agency, usually via a secure portal. A confirmation email will be sent upon completion of the search, indicating whether a match was found or if the search yielded no results. In the event of a match, the requesting agency will receive relevant information pertaining to the individual's criminal history, subject to applicable privacy laws and regulations. Further investigation may be required depending on the nature of the match and the information obtained.

$80.00

Ohio BCI & FBI (Both Database Checks): "Digital fingerprints are sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification (BCI&I) and then forwarded to the requested location." This process typically takes several weeks, depending on the workload of both the BCI&I and the receiving agency. Factors such as the clarity of the digital fingerprints and the complexity of the background check can also influence processing time. Upon completion, a report is generated indicating whether any matches were found in either the Ohio BCI or FBI databases. This report will detail any criminal history, including arrests, convictions, and outstanding warrants. The results are then sent to the requesting party, who may be an employer, licensing agency, or other authorized entity.

  • What Is an Ohio BCI Background Check?

The Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is a crucial body that plays a significant role in maintaining the safety of Ohio's citizens. One of the many functions of BCI is to carry out background checks, on which the lives of Ohio's people rely on. Every year, BCI processes approximately one million background checks, which is no small feat. The process involves the gathering of fingerprints, which are then diligently scrutinized and compared against a vast database of criminal fingerprints. This comparison is necessary to determine whether there is an existing criminal record on file. This type of check is essential for numerous purposes, such as employment screenings, gun permit applications, or for those looking to volunteer with vulnerable populations such as children, seniors, and those with disabilities. By successfully completing these background checks, BCI helps to ensure that potentially harmful people are not passed through for certain opportunities, thereby enhancing the safety of society at large.
